Description

2-[N-(3-Chloro-4-fluorophenyl)-1-phenylformamido]propanoic acid is a nitro herbicide that inhibits the activity of fatty acid synthase and has been shown to be effective against a variety of weeds. 2-[N-(3-Chloro-4-fluorophenyl)-1-phenylformamido]propanoic acid is also used as a selective herbicide in tissue culture. This compound shows synergistic interaction with other herbicides, such as chlorothalonil. It inhibits the growth of plants by blocking the synthesis of fatty acids and inhibiting photosynthesis. The effective dose for this compound is dependent on the plant species and can range from 5 to 2,000 parts per million (ppm).
