Description :Methyl 2-(2-Bromothiophen-3-Yl)acetate is a template molecule for the development of small-molecule inhibitors against botulinum endopeptidase. It is hypothesized that this inhibitor may inhibit the catalytic activity of botulinum endopeptidase by binding to the hydroxyl group on the active site and blocking access to the substrate. The computational methods used in this study include molecular weight optimization and simulations. This analog compound was found to be an inhibitor with a strong inhibitory potency, which suggests that it is a promising lead candidate for drug design.
