Description

Granisetron is a serotonin 5-hydroxytryptamine 3 (5-HT3) receptor antagonist. It is used in the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting caused by cytotoxic chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or surgery. Granisetron hydrochloride is a white to off-white powder with a molecular weight of 476.0. The chemical formula for granisetron hydrochloride is C22H24ClN2O2S. This drug has been shown to be efficient in the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting caused by cytotoxic chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or surgery.
