Description

Praeruptorin C is a natural compound that inhibits the transcriptional activity of RNA polymerase. It has been shown to lower systolic pressure in mice and rats by inhibiting the accumulation of cytosolic Ca2+ in ventricular myocardium cells. Praeruptorin C also has a protective effect on cardiac muscle cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the accumulation of Ca2+. This compound also has a number of toxicological studies, making it suitable for use in clinical trials. Praeruptorin C is water-soluble and can be administered orally or intravenously. It is metabolized by hydrolysis into glycol esters and coumarins derivatives. The pharmacokinetics study showed that after oral administration, praeruptorin C was rapidly absorbed and eliminated from the body with an elimination half-life of about 2 hours.
