1-Bromo-6-methoxy-naphthalene is an organic compound that can be used as a monomer in the formation of polymers. This chemical has been shown to form at a rate of 0.063% per day at room temperature and 0.1% per day at 25 degrees Celsius, but it is more stable at temperatures less than or equal to -5 degrees Celsius. The deuteration of 1-bromo-6-methoxy-naphthalene was carried out by substituting the hydrogen atoms with deuterium atoms and the kinetic studies were done using gas chromatography mass spectrometry, which showed the activation energy for the reaction to be around 18 kJ/mol. The profile of this chemical shows that it can act as an oxidant in a catalytic process.
