• Description: Rac 2-isopropyl pentanoic acid (rac-2IP) is a natural product that has been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells. Rac-2IP induces caspase-9 activation and the cleavage of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP). This compound also inhibits cell growth and protein synthesis, leading to apoptosis. Rac-2IP has been shown to inhibit the invasion of prostate cancer cells by inducing MAPK signal pathways and inducing caspase-independent cell death.
