Description :Platelet Factor-4 (PF4) is an activator of G protein coupled receptors that belongs to the group of peptides. PF4 binds to the CXCR1 receptor and activates it, which causes a change in the ion channels. It has been shown that PF4 can activate other G protein coupled receptors such as CXCR2 and CXCR3. This protein is used in research as a ligand for antibody production or as a research tool for studying the interactions between proteins. Platelet Factor-4 has been shown to inhibit ATPase activity in cell membranes and may be useful in pharmacological studies.
