Erteberel is a drug that has been shown to be effective for the treatment of breast cancer. Erteberel has shown potential as a target for cancer therapy because it inhibits mitochondrial superoxide production. This drug has been shown to have no effect on fertility in mice. Erteberel is being studied as a diagnostic agent for myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs), which are white blood cells that suppress immune responses and play an important role in the development of metastatic cancer.
