Description

Cefepime is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is effective in the treatment of many types of bacterial infections, including pneumonia and skin infections. Cefepime has also been used to treat viral infections such as hepatitis A and B. It is not active against fungi or parasites, but it can be used as an adjunct therapy to treat fungal infections when combined with amphotericin B. Cefepime has been shown to be effective in the treatment of cancer, often in combination with other chemotherapeutic agents. Cefepime is a synthetic compound that was invented by scientists at Eli Lilly and Company.
