Informations sur le produit
2,6-Dichloro-4-iodophenol is a hypoiodous acid activator. It is used in disinfectants to react with chlorine to form hypochlorous acid and other oxidizing agents. 2,6-Dichloro-4-iodophenol is used in the production of trichloromethane and chloral hydrate. It is also used as an intermediate for the production of phenolic compounds and trichloroacetic acid. This compound has been shown to be toxic to diptera larvae and culicidae pupae. 2,6-Dichloro-4-iodophenol reacts with 4-iodophenol to produce reactive intermediates that can bind to DNA or protein molecules. When this happens, it may cause mutations in the DNA molecule or inhibit protein synthesis by binding to amino acids on the ribosome surface.
