Description

Senegin II is a natural product that exhibits strong bioactivity. It is a primary metabolite of the plant Senecio scandens and has been isolated from this plant. Senegin II has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of human platelet aggregation and may have potential as a drug for the treatment of thrombosis and atherosclerosis. The compound has also been found to exhibit anticancer activity in vitro, as well as antimicrobial properties against bacteria such as E. coli, S. typhimurium, and P. aeruginosa.
