Hydroxydehydro Nifedipine Carboxylate Sodium Salt is a prodrug that is metabolized to nifedipine. It has been shown to have haemodynamic effects in humans and wild-type mice. This drug has also been shown to be a substrate for P-glycoprotein (Pgp) and inhibit the transport of drugs such as triazolam, erythromycin, and cyclosporin A. Hydroxydehydro Nifedipine Carboxylate Sodium Salt is used in pharmaceutical preparations as a precursor for nifedipine.
