Description

N-(2,6-Dimethylphenylcarbamoylmethyl)iminodiacetic acid is a chemical compound that is used as an anti-cancer agent. It is a senolytic drug that has been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells and reduce the risk of tumor growth. The most promising application of this compound is in the treatment of inflammatory diseases, like rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and Crohn's disease. N-(2,6-Dimethylphenylcarbamoylmethyl)iminodiacetic acid was originally discovered by scientists as an analog to adenosine monophosphate (AMP). It inhibits glutamate dehydrogenase and blocks the production of ATP in cells. This prevents the release of calcium ions from intracellular stores and reduces inflammation by inhibiting the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-1β and tumor necrosis factor alpha.
