Description

4-Prime-N-Octyloxybiphenyl-4-carboxylic acid is a carboxylic acid that is produced by the spontaneous oxidation of biphenyl. It has a viscosity of 0.6 cP and a boiling point of 217 °C. This product can be used as an additive in coolants and ferroelectric liquid crystals. 4-Prime-N-Octyloxybiphenyl-4-carboxylic acid has been shown to have antimicrobial activities against bacteria and fungi, including Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans, at concentrations as low as 10 mg/ml.
