Description :Msi-1436 is a peptide that can be used as a research tool in cell biology, pharmacology, and life science. It is an inhibitor of the receptor for the neurotransmitter glutamate. Msi-1436 binds to ion channels and prevents them from opening. It also inhibits the production of nitric oxide by inhibiting the enzyme nitric oxide synthase (NOS), which converts arginine to citrulline. The binding of Msi-1436 to receptors causes activation of potassium channels and inhibition of calcium channels, leading to decreased neuronal excitation.
