Description :
(S)-4-Carboxyphenylglycine is a drug that has been shown to have anti-schizophrenic effects in animals. It is also an inhibitor of glutamate release, which may be responsible for its anti-anxiety and antidepressant effects. (S)-4-Carboxyphenylglycine inhibits the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway and may be useful in the treatment of cancer. This drug has a high affinity for the NMDA receptor subtype and has been shown to increase locomotor activity in rats. (S)-4-Carboxyphenylglycine is also known as 4CPG or SPCP.
