Description

Sikokianin C is a benzofuranoid that is extracted from the roots of Sikokia scandens. It has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in human liver cancer cells, which may be due to its ability to induce apoptosis and inhibit proliferation. Sikokianin C also inhibits the inflammatory response by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, TNF-α, or IL-6. This compound has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the growth of MRC5 cells and natural compounds, but it does not have any cytotoxic effects on normal cells. Sikokianin C is used in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of inflammatory diseases and cancer.
