Description

SR 142948 is a drug that binds to and activates the receptor for neurotensin. It has been shown to have an excitatory effect on neurons in the brain, as well as an analgesic effect. SR 142948 is used as a diagnostic agent for diseases related to neurotensin, such as Parkinson's disease, cancer and autoimmune disease. Neurotensin is a neurotransmitter that regulates movement and controls pain by acting on specific receptors in the brain. This drug is also used to study the biological properties of neurotensin receptors in wild-type mice and to study the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease.
