Description

Neoxaline is a natural product of plant origin. It is used as a reference material for HPLC standards, and has been shown to have bioactive properties. Neoxaline is an intermediate in the biosynthesis of the phytochemicals xanthones, flavonoids, and lignans. The quality control of neoxaline can be done by screening for secondary metabolites such as alkaloids, terpenoids, and glycosides. Neoxaline can also be isolated from plants using organic solvents or chromatography techniques.
