6-Chloro-4-oxo-1,4-dihydro-1,5-naphthyridine-3-carboxylic acid is a chemical that inhibits the enzyme DNA gyrase in bacteria. It has been shown to be effective against some forms of cancer and depression. 6CNDCA is used as an antidepressant and antipsychotic drug with serotonergic properties. This compound is also being studied for use in the treatment of staphylococcal infections. 6CNDCA has been shown to have a profile that includes inhibition of serotonergic system, rat liver microsomes, and depression.
