3-((2-Chlorophenyl)thio)-4-hydroxy-6-(4-morpholinophenyl)-6-(thiophen-3-yl)-5,6-dihydropyridin-2(1H)-one is a potent and selective activator of GABAA receptors. It also has an inhibitory effect on ligand binding to the GABAB receptor. 3-((2-Chlorophenyl)thio)-4-hydroxy-6-(4-morpholinophenyl)-6-(thiophen-3-yl)-5,6-dihydropyridin-2(1H)-one is not a substrate for any of the major human drug metabolizing enzymes such as CYP1A2, 2C9, 2D6, 2E1, and 3A4.
