Terbium(III) chloride is a polyunsaturated fatty acid that has been shown to have antioxidant properties. It enhances nadph-cytochrome P450 reductase activity and the production of reactive oxygen species in cells, which can lead to ferroptosis or necrotic cell death. Terbium(III) chloride has also been shown to inhibit single-stranded DNA and can be used as a luminescent probe for thermodynamic data. It is encapsulated in non-toxic nanoparticles.
