Description :
3-Methyl-N-(propan-2-yl)aniline is an alkylating agent that can be used in chemical synthesis. It is a reductive alkylation agent that can react with acetone to form propanal, which can then be reduced to propanol. 3-Methyl-N-(propan-2-yl)aniline can also be used as a catalyst for the alkylation of isopropyl alcohol with acetone to yield methyl ethyl ketone. 3-Methyl-N-(propan-2-yl)aniline is a high yielding and selective catalyst for reductive alkylations of hydrocarbons, alcohols, and amines.
