N,N-Diethylcyclopropanecarboxamide is an antagonist of the NMDA receptor. It is an analog of milnacipran, which is a drug used in the treatment of depression. The conformationally constrained N,N-diethylcyclopropanecarboxamide has been shown to be a potent and selective antagonist at the NMDA receptor subtype with no activity at other glutamate receptors. The assay system used was an ovary cell that expresses the NMDA receptor.
