Description :
The chiral compound is a red, crystalline solid with a melting point of 187 degrees Celsius. It can be prepared by the reaction of sodium carbonate and formamide in the presence of an acid catalyst. The compound has been shown to produce a strong absorption at 674 nanometers under laser excitation. The fluorescence emission spectrum of the compound shows peaks at 587, 592, and 610 nanometers. The enantiomeric purity of this compound has been determined to be 98%.
