Description

N-Cyano-N'-(1,1-dimethylpropyl)-N''-3-pyridinyl-guanidine (CGP) is a ligand that binds to the beta2 subunit of voltage gated potassium channels. It has been shown to bind to the channel region with high affinity and specificity. CGP has been shown to interact with the beta2 subunit in a manner that inhibits the opening of the channel. This interaction is competitive and reversible. CGP is a synthetic compound that belongs to the class of compounds called radioligands. Radioligands are used for labeling specific proteins or nucleic acids for various purposes such as detection, imaging, and therapy.
