Description :
1-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-3-methyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-5-one is an organic solvent that is soluble in water. It has a high melting point of about 130 degrees Celsius and can be used as a detection reagent. This compound has been used to detect the presence of sialic acid on cell surfaces. 1-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-3-methyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-5-one also reacts with cyclopentadienyl compounds to form products that are useful in the synthesis of polyolefins and oligosaccharides.
