Description :
Phthalic acid di(methyl-d3) ester is a steroid that is used in the synthesis of other pharmaceuticals. It is a dibutyl ester of phthalic acid and has been shown to be an androgen with tissue-specific effects on the prostate gland and male reproductive organs. Phthalic acid di(methyl-d3) ester has a high affinity for the androgen receptor, which may lead to changes in the tissues of these organs. This compound has been found to cause malformations in male rats when administered orally or by injection during pregnancy.
