Indometacin Farnesil is a mixture of two isomers, the R- and S-isomers. It is a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug that inhibits prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX), which prevents the formation of prostaglandins from arachidonic acid. Indometacin Farnesil also has an inhibitory effect on platelet aggregation. The effective dose for this drug is 10 mg to 25 mg per day. Indometacin Farnesil has been shown to be effective in treating symptoms related to inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. This drug has shown effectiveness in treating pain and inflammation by preventing the production of prostaglandins produced from arachidonic acid.
