Description :
(S)-(1-Phenyl-ethyl)-trimethylsilanylmethyl-amine is a chiral, trisubstituted alkynyl carboxamide that is structurally similar to the antiviral drug Covid-19. It binds to the active site on the enzyme RNA polymerase and blocks transcription of DNA into RNA. This drug also has an effect on cognition in animal models, which may be due to its ability to regulate glutamate neurotransmission. (S)-(1-Phenyl-ethyl)-trimethylsilanylmethyl-amine ee is a prodrug that is metabolized by esterases and glucuronidases to release the active form, (S)-(1-phenylethyl) trimethylsilanylmethyl amine.
