Description :
2-(4-Iodophenyl)-1-phenylbenzimidazole is a synthetic compound that has been used in research as an anticancer agent. It has been shown to be effective against cancer cells by inhibiting the growth of tumor cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of DNA and RNA. 2-(4-Iodophenyl)-1-phenylbenzimidazole also has anti-inflammatory properties and can be used to treat tuberculosis infections. The drug binds to DNA and prevents transcription, thereby preventing replication. 2-(4-Iodophenyl)-1-phenylbenzimidazole is not active against acid-fast bacteria such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis or Mycobacterium avium complex.
