Description :
β-Sitosterol-d7 is a buffered, glandular phytosterol. It is a metabolite of cholesterol and is found in plants, animals, and humans. β-Sitosterol-d7 has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the development of cancerous cells. The presence of β-sitosterol can be used as an indicator of pesticide exposure. This has been demonstrated by the detection of β-sitosterol in urine samples following exposure to both insecticide and fungicide treatments.
