Description :
5-Bromo-2-(dimethoxymethyl)-1-(phenylsulfonyl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine is a selective inhibitor of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase. This compound has been shown to have potent inhibitory activity against the accumulation of β-amyloid peptides in cells and to provide neuroprotection in an animal model of Alzheimer's disease.
