Kobusin is a genus of antimicrobial agents that are activated by receptor binding. It has been shown to have genotoxic activity in the activity test, and it is also active against necrotic cell death. Kobusin has been shown to inhibit the growth of hepatitis C virus (HCV) in cell culture. Kobusin also possesses antinociceptive properties, which may be due to its ability to reduce inflammatory disease symptoms and suppress pain-causing substances that are released from nerve endings.
