• Description: 2-Chloro-5-hydroxybenzene-1-sulfonamide is a sulfonamide that has been activated with deuterium. It is a structural analog of anion and radical anions, which are conjugates of the analyte and the glucoside. The 2-chloro-5-hydroxybenzene-1-sulfonamide was found to be ionizable in solution and its residue was determined to be analytes. The activation of 2C5HBS may have been due to the sulfuric acid in the sample, which would have increased its volatility. This chemical reacts with electrospray ionization (ESI) and produces a sulfate radical anion that can be detected by mass spectrometry. 2C5HBS also has fungicidal properties as it inhibits the growth of fungi, such as Bumetanide, which is used for plant protection against fungal infections.
