Description

Lenampicillin is an antibiotic that belongs to the class of penicillins. It is a natural product derived from Penicillium chrysogenum and has been shown to have inhibitory effects on bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites. Lenampicillin has been shown to be active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains. The drug also has antiviral properties and can be used for the treatment of influenza A virus. Lenampicillin inhibits protein synthesis by targeting ribosomes in the cytoplasm of cells.
