Description

Cyanidin 3-arabinoside chloride is a natural compound that belongs to the flavonol glycosides group. It has been shown to have radical scavenging activities and antioxidative activity in human urine samples, as well as enzyme inhibitory activity against the enzymes carboxylesterase and lipase. Cyanidin 3-arabinoside chloride also exhibits allosteric modulatory activity on dehydroascorbate reductase. This flavonoid has been shown to be effective against human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) by inhibiting viral replication and DNA synthesis. Cyanidin 3-arabinoside chloride also inhibits melanocarpa, which is a pigment found in plants that can cause skin cancer when exposed to sunlight.
