Description

Segetalin A (SA) is a trifluoroacetic acid fatty acid that has been isolated from the leaves of the plant Segetia elata. It has a macrocyclic structure and a unique chemical diversity. SA is an antiangiogenic agent that inhibits endothelial cell proliferation and angiogenesis. The biological properties of SA are related to its agilent c18, LC-MS/MS method, and molecular modeling. These studies have shown that SA has anti-cancer activity and is able to inhibit the growth of human cancer cells in vitro by suppressing angiogenesis. The biological properties of SA are also related to supramolecular chemistry, which may be due to its ability to form hydrogen bonds with water molecules on the surface of certain surfaces.
