Description

Amrubicin hydrochloride is a chemotherapy drug that is used to treat cancer. It has been shown to inhibit the mitochondrial membrane potential by binding to dinucleotide phosphate, which leads to significant cytotoxicity. Amrubicin hydrochloride also inhibits receptor activity, which leads to cell death in cancer cells. The median inhibitory concentration (IC50) of amrubicin was found to be 0.00005 μM in lung cancer cells, and synergistic cell death was observed with anti-VEGF treatment.
