Description

5-Chloro-1,3-dihydro-1-methyl-3-phenyl-2H-benzimidazol-2-one is a synthetic impurity that may be found in drug products. It is used as an analytical standard and is metabolized to 5,5'-dichloroquinoline by hydrolysis of the acetal linkage. The metabolite 5,5'-dichloroquinoline has been shown to have antiplatelet effects in vitro and may contribute to the antithrombotic activity of the parent compound.
