Description :
4-Deoxy-4α-phorbol is a natural compound with antiviral activity. It inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines, such as IL-2 and IL-12, by binding to the IL-2 receptor. This compound also causes acute toxicities in mice, including neuronal death and phorbol ester toxicity. In vitro assays have shown that 4-deoxy-4α-phorbol has cytotoxic effects on HL60 cells.
