It can also be used as a reaction medium for the synthesis of polymers containing molybdenum, rhenium, germanium, or other metals that are difficult to synthesize with conventional techniques. Potassium cyclohexane butyrate can also be used as a solvent for biodiesel production due to its ability to dissolve organic compounds and low boiling point.
