Description

Handelin is a Chinese herb that belongs to the genus Chrysanthemum, which is a member of the Asteraceae family. Handelin extracts are obtained from the dried leaves and flowers of the plant. The chemical constituents of Handelin include sesquiterpene lactones, such as chrysanthenone and chrysanthenyl acetate, with anticancer activity. Handelin has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on protein synthesis and protein genes in cancer cells. It also blocks serotonin receptors in the serotonergic system and has therapeutic effects on neuronal function. Handelin may be used for treating various types of cancer or for prevention of tumor growth.
