N'-benzoyl-N-(tert-butyl)benzenecarbohydrazide is a pesticide that is used to control the larval stage of arthropods. It inhibits the synthesis of proteins and growth hormones, causing larvae to stop feeding, molting, and eventually die. N'-benzoyl-N-(tert-butyl)benzenecarbohydrazide disrupts the molting process in insects by inhibiting protein synthesis. It binds to response elements in the cytoplasmic membrane of cells and prevents the influx of calcium ions. This disrupts cellular metabolism, which leads to inhibition of protein synthesis.
