• Description: Indomethacin acyl-b-D-glucuronide is a prodrug of indomethacin. It is absorbed through the stomach and small intestine and metabolized in the liver. The pharmacokinetic parameters are not as well understood as with other drugs, but it has been shown that indomethacin acyl-b-D-glucuronide has a higher systemic exposure than indomethacin. This may be due to an increase in absorption or faster elimination. Indomethacin acyl-b-D-glucuronide is used for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gouty arthritis, and bursitis.
