• Description: Levofloxacin methyl ester is an analog of levofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that targets bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. Levofloxacin methyl ester has also been shown to increase the activity of rifampicin against Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells, indicating its potential as a synergistic drug combination. Levofloxacin methyl ester is excreted in urine and has been shown to have antioxidant properties similar to astaxanthin.
