Description :6-Methyldiosgenin acetate is a saponin that is found in the plant Balanites aegyptiaca. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor effects, as well as antioxidant properties. 6-Methyldiosgenin acetate also has been shown to stimulate the production of nitric oxide (NO) in endothelial cells, which may contribute to its anti-inflammatory effects. The chemical structure of 6-methyldiosgenin acetate is similar to that of furostanol and spirostanol, which are both saponins found in plants that can be used for the treatment of cancer. In addition, sapogenols are known to have a variety of therapeutic activities including antidiabetic, antiviral and anticancer activity.
