Description

Puerarin is a natural compound found in the roots of plants from the genus "Pueraria." It has been shown to have hypoglycemic effects, reducing blood glucose levels. Puerarin has also been shown to protect against oxidative injury and neuronal death induced by chemical inhibitors, such as 2-deoxyglucose or methylmalonic acid. In addition, puerarin has been shown to inhibit dextran sulfate-induced bowel disease in rats and also exhibits chemiluminescent properties. This compound may act as an antioxidant or anti-inflammatory agent.
