• Description: Silodosin O-beta-D-glucuronide is a metabolite of silodosin, a drug used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia. It is the glucuronide conjugate of silodosin and its presence in plasma can be quantified by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The solvents used in HPLC are acetonitrile and ammonium formate. The chromatographic separation is achieved with a mobile phase consisting of an organic solvent (acetonitrile) and an ion pairing agent (ammonium formate) that interacts with the analyte and forms an ion pair. The sensitivity of HPLC for this analyte can be improved by using deuterated solvents.
