Secoxyloganin has shown antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Gram-negative bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It also has antiviral properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit RNA synthesis and protein synthesis.Secoxyloganin has been shown to have physiological effects in vitro assays, including an increase in glucose uptake by cells after injection of glucose into the cell culture medium.
